The St. Catharines Cycling Club offers training rides year-round.
Training rides are club sanctioned events and therefore only open to St. Catharines Cycling Club members. All riders must have proof of membership with them on the ride.
Riders with OCA membership in other clubs may participate on an occasional basis provided they have made a prior request and been accepted by a member of the club executive beforehand. They must present themselves to the ride leaders at the start of the ride and provide proof of current OCA membership.
If you do not qualify, you will be asked to remove yourself from the ride.
All riders must abide by the St. Catharines Cycling Club Code of Conduct. Riders violating the code will be given warning. Continued violations may result in revoking of ride privileges or membership termination.
Basic Guidelines
- Aero bars are not permitted in group rides to avoid increased risk to the group. Riders wishing to use clip-on bars, may ride twenty feet off the front or back of the group.
- Arrive to rides prepared with your own tools, pumps and tubes. Know how to fix a flat and take care of your own basic mechanical issues. If you receive help or a spare tube/cartridge, be sure to return the favour promptly.
- Make sure your bike is mechanically sound.
- Headphones are not permitted. Not only is it illegal, it’s unsafe.
- Respect other road users, that includes riders AND cars.
- Helmets are mandatory
It is every riders responsibility to be familiar with the Ride Guidelines and the SCCC Code of Conduct before joining a club ride.
