    Our Fast and Famous Interval Workout:  The Renowned Tuesday Worlds

    The St. Catharines Cycling Club holds training rides every Tuesday night from April to mid-September. Taking place over 4 courses, the terrain alternates from flat to hilly. These are high intensity rides intended to develop race skills and fitness. Riders are divided into ability based groups as numbers dictate.

    If you are NOT sure of the route on any given night, please ask one of the organizers for help.

    ROLLING COURSE

    Sawmill/Twenty Road Course

    The Sawmill ride meets at the Rockway Community Centre for a short roll out before reaching the 8 km course that runs on Fifteen/Moyer, Sawmill and Twenty Road.

    HILLY COURSE

    Saylor’s Hill Figure-8 Course

    The hilly rides meet at the ball diamond on Cream St and cover rolling and hilly terrain of Pelham and Short Hills.

    A Group:
    does top loop from ball diamond, then 2 full loops for 3x up Saylors

    B Group:
    does 1st lap from ball diamond then 1 full loop for 2x up Saylors up total

    C Group:
    does 2 bottom loops then finishes up Saylors once

    Sulphur Springs Course on Map My Ride

    FLAT COURSE

    Tour de Wainfleet

    It is a 39 km one loop relatively flat (42m elevation gain) course meant to simulate a longer A to B style road race course. From its start you will head south along the smooth Hwy #3 with its wide bike lane to Lakeshore Road where again smooth roads lead you west along the winding bends along Lake Erie. Route then heads NW along North Shore Drive going up and over the one lone hill on the course and then turns right on Canal Bank Road where a 15 Km straightaway drag strip to the finish point awaits. This course is fast and any break away or chase group wll not only need to work hard but also get organized quick!     FLAT COURSE

    North Pelham

    The North Pelham ride meets at the Cream Street Baseball Diamond for roll out to the course on Metler, Maple, Kilman and Balfour Streets.

    We’re thrilled you are training with us, please ***do not accelerate to take the front then slow down. If you end up on the front and cannot maintain or increase the pace – Signal early for the group to pass.
